Writing to reach you

This is a picture of our national soccer coach. It's an ad for the national railway and reads : "Suddenly you know, You'll be a railway conductor, There you can really sub" (really it says substitute, cos the dutch word for substitute is the same as for a railway switch) This ofcoarse is about the awfully stupid substitution he made by taking out the best attacking and most dangerous player for a defender. Bah! Another one, who wants to be a millionair ? This one reads : Your left forward is playing the best match of his life and thanks to him you are in the lead with 2-1. What do you do ? Take him out and put in a slow defender. (highlighted...) You leave him in and win with 4-1. You substitute him for Overmars. You substitute him when he can't go on. Hmmm, hard question...

Well that went fucking great!!!!!! Fucking idiot referee and bastard coach!!! Sheesh. So at the start of the evening I said "Czech's win 2-1, sorry guys..." Well I got laughed at, hehe. I've always supported the Czech Republic, I dunno why really, NedVed and Koller are part of the reason though. So everyone else saw Holland winning 2-1, 3-1, 4-0, silly patriots. And darn, 1-0, bam! 2-0. My entire expectations shot to pieces. Then the substitution of hell occured, Smicer joined the Czechs, uh-oh! 2-1, no problem, we just had to poke in a goal to get a nice save lead. That's where it ended though, FUCK! The referee was a German in disguise, I swear! That idiot was so freaking blind and eager to give us cards, bah! And Collina was 4th referee, they should have substituted Gonzo for him. So it was 2-2, no problem, we would equal Germany and beat up the Latvians to get 2nd place. Nu-uh, 88th minute, bam! 3-2. Hehe, so I was right afterall...bah! But hey, in my betting poule I had Koller and Van Nistelrooij as goalscorers, and they scored, so I'm okay with that. And I said the Czechs would win Group D. I'm 72nd out of 800ish people now, not bad for merc. I'll most probably lose 1 or 2 players now when Germany (1) or Holland (2) drop out. I just hope Spain (0) will drop out and not Portugal (2), but that's almost a sure bet. Hehe, my thoughts about the final ? Italy - France, though Italy is in a shakey situation now. After the match we stayed in the pub till closing, that's around 2:30, then we went to my house...uh-oh. I was on my bike while the rest came by car. When they arrived a few minutes after me, they had beer...strange... "We found this in someones garden..." hehe, they keep finding beer in the same guys garden, it's almost a weekly ritual. So we sat there, angry, cursing about the referee, the coach, and the ball... That substitution of Robben was insane, who the fuck takes out the best attacking player for a defender ? And that referee, sheesh, any more holding and that guy would have been Waltzing with Van the Man. That was a clearer red card and a penalty then a keeper taking out an attacker, sheesh. Oh well, so they stayed till 8:30, darn, and I "went to bed" at 9:30, and now I'm up, looking at the mess...eep!

So yea, it's been a while, I've had some serious drinking to do, and a job interview. Thuesday saw the first match for Holland on the European Championship Soccer, against Germany... Now we all know Holland and Germany have a lovely soccer history together, don't we ? Just to refresh your memory, the current German Coach, Rudi Völler, has some fond memories of us. In 1990 during the World Cup in Italy, our very own Frank Rijkaard had his famous "spitting" encounter with Völler, after having spat him in the face twice it ended in both Rijkaard and Völler getting send off with red cards, Germany won the match though :S The same rivalry had been going on forever though, in 1974 with Cruijf and in 1988 with Van Basten. So another Holland - Germany, riots were bound to break out... Germany scored 1-0, bastards, both teams were playing really bad so we had little hope on winning, or even getting a tie. Their goal was lovely though, a free kick that ended up untouched and bounced into the goal. The guy that made it got sold for 10 million to Bayern Munchen right after that. But then, Van The Man managed to poke one in!!! Yay!!! Darn the pub where I was watching went crazy, hehe. That was it, no more goals, no riots, just happy Germans and happy Dutch. The idea was that I wouldn't be drinking cos I had a job interview the next morning. Ten beers later I gave up not drinking, and that was just the 1st half... So I went to bed at 3:30, piss drunk. Thank god I had set 3 alarm clocks before I left for the pub :) So at 8:30 the alarms went off, waking me with a mix of techno beats, raggea and classical music. I had been smart enough to drink a lot of water before I went to bed, so I didn't wake up with a headache, just a sore gut and the stink of beer and alcohol surrounding me. After a quick shower and a 15min toothbrushing session I was smelling lots better. So off I went. I had practiced the route there the day before cos I had never been in that direction. It was a 40 minute bike ride, a lovely one though. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited in chairs. After a few people had passed who I thought were going to interview me finally the right person came along. A guy in a suit was with him, all dressed up, asif he was looking to get the part of James Bond. There I was, with my bright red backpack, my stonewashed jeans and my favourite sweater, hehe. I unloaded my camera, my PDA and my Ipod from my pockets and followed the guy to his office. On the table he had my crappy CV as he put away the 3 page full-color binded CV of the guy that just left... Another collegue of his joined us and we had a nice little chat. It went, uhm , well, I guess. My current job has me dealing with lots of stress, and this job, has lots of stress. The stress level there is so much lower though, it's a walk in the park compaired to my job now. So after 30 minutes of chit-chat and company history they asked me about my bad trades, hmz. That's easy enough though, I'm bad at decision making, but they had already noticed that cos I couldn't decide on which bad trade to mention...:P After 40 minutes I was done and I could go. They'll call me next week if they want another interview. I know 2 people who work there though, one has been employee of the month like 20 times, so his recommendation is nice to have. And I'm there connection when it comes to printing stuff, at my other job, so they kinda know me from the phone. So I talked to my friend a bit about how it went, and went on my way again. On my way home I took lots of lovely pics, ofcoarse, I have to reach my daily quota of 100 pics :) Since then all I've done is watch soccer with friends, so no other exciting things to tell really. I'm pretty high in the betting poule, but I'm no winner, oh well, I'll aim for the Tour de France betting poules next.

Ao I went to a friend of mine yesterday. I had to do some shopping, he had to do some shopping, so we went together. Just before we left the doorbell rang, I opened the door... "Oh it's you..." She said. Well that's a nice thing to say. It was a girl we know and that uhm, doesn't seem to like me much. Suffice to say, I'm totally crazy about her, hehe... So we went shopping, she came along. After the shopping we sat around for a bit and she went home. During the shopping we decided I would stay for dinner. That's always nice, cos most of the stuff he eats I find disgusting. So we settled on pasta with spinache and a snitzel, lovely... After dinner he put together his new computer, and I uhm , was helpfull... Another friend of us had called earlier, and we were going swimming with his boat. Of coarse we picked the day with the most wind and least sun...bbbrrrr... On coming back we screwed up his new pc a bit more. After a while we went to my place. Blah blah blah, sheesh. So I had a few drink and the convo we had got a bit to honest in places, hehe. He has a huge luxury problem, about 7 girls have the hots for him, and he picks the crazy one. How many are mad about me ? I figure -1...and he keeps on complaining ? Bah. So he went home, I joined irc and went to bed at 4:30, drunk out of my skull... I went to my grandparents today. I woke up at 9:30 and wanted to sleep mooooreeee, but no, I had said I would be there at 11:00, so I couldnt go back to sleep, cos then id prolly sleep till 2:00. Darn the dog was happy to see me :) She jumped and peed around like crazy...so there is a girl mad about me afterall.... ;) My granma kept forgetting stuff, she asked me if I wanted a drink about 20 times. After sitting in the backyard for a bit talking about the good old times my granpa needed my help in his audio room. I've never seen such a small room filled with so many boxes and music players, sheesh. One huge puzzle to see where every wire went, whoa. In the end I didn't do anything, hehe. So I went home after 2 hours and went to the woods to take some pics, nothing special. And tonight ? I dunno, fries and frikandellen and chocolate icecream as desert :) And maybe some shopping.

And yes, I got up early. My alarmclock went off at 6:30, jip-py. Guess what ? The sun was already up, the bastard. So I hurried outside with my camera to catch the early morning rays as they pierce the trees and make the mists glow golden. Yup, that's what I did. So what did I end up with ? Cows. Yup, young, sleepy, chewing cows. After an hour I decided to go back to bed, right after feeding the fishes and the birds and watering the plants though. I woke up again at about 11:00, I had breakfast and hit the book again. So I read another 60 pages today. I watched some t.v and read some more. I'm pretty red now, not too much though, cos I want to sleep at night :)

So yesterday was my first work day off of my holiday. It was about 25C outside so I decided to actually go outside and get a tan. Last year I had like no tan at all, I was like a huge snowman walking around. I got up early to keep my normal rhythm up. So I was in the sun by 9:30, eating my breakfast, a rather healthy one at that. I had my entire day planned, reading in the sun, that was the plan. I must say, it went pretty smooth for me, I read about 60 pages, a new record. What am I reading ? Chuck Pahanniuks "Diary". You dunno him ? Well, he also wrote Fight Club, you know, it became a movie with Brad Pitt... So after my tanning session I made "dinner". It consisted of farm fries, those are the thick fries that haven't been decently peeled...and I made 2 pork chops. So yea, nothing green... After dinner I went to a friends house, we wanted to rent a movie, we ended up watching The Bourne Identity at the house of a couple we know. Lovely film, nice action. So that's my day, rather boring, but hey. I went to bed early (2:00) cos I was getting up early the next day.

So guess what...? Yup, a few hours after that last post my dad borrowed a car and they left again. YAY!!!! So here I am. A friend called if I wanted to get some fast food, I declined thinking I would eat with my parents...oh well. So now I've started the drinking, yum yum. Just watched a lovely drama movie, it wasn't E.R, but I think i felt my eyes getting wet anyway, I love other peoples emotions...when I can zap em away that is.... So yay, 3 weeks have started, again.

Uhuh...yea, so that went pretty smooth. I didn't go anywhere last night cos my parents left for holiday early this morning and I wanted to be up to wave them off. So this morning at 8:00 my mom knocked on my door, they were leaving. I "jumped" out of bed, rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and went downstairs to say bye. They got into the car and drove of with the caravan. So there it was, my little kingdom for the next 3 weeks. I envisioned the new setup I had in mind, improving on last years make-over. The tellies on the living room table, all my consoles under the table, all the furniture in a corner, the fridge stuffed with beer and uhm , healthy food... But first, I went back to bed. I couldn't go back to sleep, so I watched a bit of t.v. I made me some food and turned on my computer, then suddenly the phone rang... "Hi dear, the car broke down, so we are coming home..." A 4 hour holiday, lucky me, thank Gomi I hadn't started the make-over yet. So here they are again, my parents, looking for a new car. I was "friendly" enough to find my dad a Renault dealer...so they can get a car nice and fast, hehe. Now for the really bad news, no sign of any store selling the new Game Boy SP Retro here yet. I ordered one a while back, and they can't seem to come up with a date, bah, they are worse then my dating.

So yea, the chinese was yummy. Around 8 in the evening I went to my friends house, within 2 hours his house was packed with people. And darn were they ever happy seeing me and my camera....or maybe not...hmmm... He only had a few beers, and the people that arrived only brought a few beers, so we went on a beer run. We got a bag full of Heinekens and some cigarets and went back. After a while a girl from my block and her boyfriend were leaving, going home or to a club, so I volunteered myself to go with them to a club. There was one problem though, I had to work today... I just had to go though, I'm totally nuts about this girl still, darn, that's not a good thing. Or was it all the beer ? Hmmmm. So there we went, in a cab off to a club, but by the ATM first. So there was a bunch of people at the club, a few I know, a few I know of... Anyway, I'm all drunk, taking pics here and there, trying not to get in trouble, so ofcoarse I did. No biggie though, nothing a drunk merc cant handle, I'm such a sweettalker, hehe. More beer, more lush chicks, less hours left till I had to work. Darn it was great. So it was closing time all of a sudden, time flies, it's so true. Once outside I noticed it was light outside already, again, darn, same thing happened last week and the week before that, hehe. So we grabbed a cab, dropping my ex "girl next door" and her boyfriend off first I finally got home, and I tipped the cabby 20 bucks, darn I'm an idiot... So I got home, closed my eyes, opened them again, and went to work, ugh. Work was lovely, it was a slow day, so I got to rest a lot, hehe. Ate some fast food, drank lots and lots of water and other stuff. I used to do this more often, I now remember why I stopped... Sobering up at work is somewhat uhm , no fun, to say the least. Finally after what seemed like days, I got to go home, the beginning of my 3 weeks off, yay!

I had a day off today. And as always I pretty much wasted it in bed and behind my computer. I woke up at 8:00 in the morning, that was my first time awake. Realizing that I had a day off i quickly returned to the dream state my biological clock awoke me from so rudely. As those things go I had forgotten the dream moments after I woke up again at 12:00...I so hate when that happens... So I grabbed my remote and watched a bit of T.V, the only thing of interrest was Roland Garros or some dinosaur show on Discovery, so I grabbed some breakfast instead. Breakfast was as exciting as always, 2 slices of bread, one with chocolate flakes, one with blueberry sprinkles. And ofcoarse the ever present glass of Coca Cola, so i lose my teeth that little bit faster. "I pitched and tossed and turned and spun - doing my best to avoid him - until I just couldn't take it anymore. I forced the heavy lids up and open and stared the eyeballs straight into the beastly light. I dunked my face into the pot of hot coffee and dove out the window and thus began the day. Things to do... Up. Awake. Onward. Forward." Johnny Depp in the book Blow by Blow, on the movie Blow and the character of George Jung. I love that quote, and it's so who I want to be. Oh well, maybe later... So I put on my computer and had a look in FaitH, though I really dont know why I still bother. I read a few forum posts that had been created during the night. Nothing special there, just more newbies coming up with ideas that I've heard a million times before, and more complaints we've all heard a million times before, and are still fixed... I made a lovely poem on some posts made by Gomi about finally tossing out Crappy the Server, though I'm sure we will see plenty more crappy service for the next few Era's. Time "flew" by, yea right, and I went to the woods with the dog. Ofcoarse I took my trusty camera with me, cos hey, you never know what might turn up. The really strange thing for this time of the year are all the mushrooms, so I took some 30 pics of a bunch of em, I think I saw 6 different types, maybe more. A few close-ups of some flowers, and drops of rain and dew on leafs, lovely. Some 1,5 hours later we returned from the woods and I went back upstairs to my computer. I put the battery of my camera in the loader, cos it was pretty drained after a slow week. I talked a while with a friend of mine, I send him a few pics I made last weekend at a party, there were some lovely girls there, I might post a few later. So we agreed to meet up tonight, after E.R ofcoarse, my trusty shot of daily human emotion...I might O.D once i order the DVD's... Right now it's dinner time, my dad got Chinese, and here he comes now, so I'll be back later...
