Some research shows that we have 1600 curses on TV per week here in Holland. That's 80.000 per year. It shows that the government funded channels have 1,1 curses per hour, compared to commercial channels with 1,3 curses per hour. The youth station BNN, that airs on a government funded channel has 7,7 curses per hour...! Gomidammit thats fucking much! Worst commercial channel is Veronica with 2,4 curses, oh well, they'll get there im sure... The religious stations have least swearing, 0,0 and 0,2 curses per hour. Now they are asking for less swearing on tv, heh, asif it influences the kids...they know swearing before they ever change from cartoons to adult tv... It's always weird, what they should do is jail adults that break traffic laws, especially on bikes, not ban cursing from tv. Ever had some old hag run a red light and ending up giving you the finger for almost running her over ? Or some geezer on his bike running a red light while some kids are waiting for it to turn green ? Now those are bad influences, bah. | posted by merc, 11:29 AM
